We're looking for product folk to scale our product team and evolve our global design platform with customers front and centre. There’s an MVP approach and you’ll need empathy and the ability to define complex problem spaces and find creative solutions, no matter how “out there” they are. Approaching things differently, creatively, and in unpredictable ways are the norm here.
A little bit about 99designs
99designs is the world’s global creative platform that makes it easy for clients and designers to work together to create designs they love. Our mission is to champion creativity to create opportunities for people around the world. Founded in 2008, 99designs has grown from a small, online forum into a worldwide community of talented designers that is now the go-to solution for businesses, agencies, and individuals.
About this opportunity
If you’re a Product human, you might be thinking that there are quite a few opportunities for Product Managers right now, and you’d be right in thinking this. But if you’re a product folk, thinking about opportunities that are complex and interesting where you can apply your natural curiosity, problem solving, and good dose of experimentation, then take a look-see at the good things we're doing at 99designs.
Now I could use words like human-centred, agile product development and all those cliche buzzwords here, but I’m pouring my coffee and staring down the barrel of another day of home schooling, so let me get straight to the point:
There aren’t too many businesses right now that can offer you product management opportunities like 99designs can. There I said it. And yes that’s a bold statement.
You'll join a team of good humans. Amazing product folk, that put customers and creators at the front and centre of everything they do, and love working creatively in various complex problem spaces. You've probably heard that we're scaling, introducing end to end products and solutions with Vistaprint, but there’s a hell of a lot of greenfield work here too.
99designs platform is accessed by millions of entrepreneurs and creators around the world. This role is so important to the business’ success and is all about diving into customer and creator acquisition funnels to improve growth metrics. You’ll partner closely and collaboratively with the marketing team, working together to identify and decide on highest impact initiatives, form hypotheses, run experiments and measure results to inform future product development and optimisation. This could be anything from SEO, conversion, and empowering the team beyond campaigns.
So looking for a role with real impact? This is it.
A little bit about you
Absolutely data driven, but with a bias for action. Willing to make decisions and move forward. If it turns out you need to pivot or learn from these decisions, that’s cool too. The role is at the intersection of product and marketing, so using data to improve the user experience of customers. It’s an opportunity to search out places of friction, and create highly personalised experiences and build innovative products and features. And it's absolutely responsible for moving the needle on acquisition through experimentation. A love of experimentation should be in your bag of tricks!
You understand that everyone wants things done and can make tradeoffs while staying on top of your backlog and key initiatives. You’re great at letting people know what’s going on and have the ability to stay focused where the most value is to be gained. You are the master of balancing competing needs, you can balance design, technology, and business while keeping in mind the often conflicting needs of the creator community and clients.
As we continue to scale, we are committed to building an inclusive and diverse team that reflects the communities in which we operate. We want people to feel like they belong and can bring their whole selves to work. Our aim is to continue to foster a collaborative environment with a keen focus on innovation, growth and ownership. Below are just some of the things we do to support our people:
