We’re in the market for a Security Specialist to join our business and help drive security maturity across 99designs through relationship building and operational perfection.
This is a role for someone with strong initiative who enjoys autonomy and driving change across all aspects of security for a business. This role needs someone who can work at a fast pace in an evolving and changing environment as this business expands.

So what is the role about?
This role will report to the VP of Technology to not only drive security maturity across the business with stakeholder engagement and operational perfection but to drive DevSecOps across 99designs partnering with the engineering teams. This will be a diverse role that will cover the broad aspects of security and will need to develop and deliver consistent automated metrics covering multiple aspects of cloud security; working across 99designs promoting common security solutions to common problems; supporting teams in risk identification and remediation via security architecture reviews and threat modelling; designing and delivering targeted security training for employees and developers; providing information security subject matter expertise in support of business initiatives and last but not least to ensure that platform implementations conform to company security standards and/or industry best practices.

A little about you
You are an experienced security specialist who has ideally worked in a small to mid-sized environment that has ultimately been through a scale up. You will have a minimum 5+ years experience in one or more of the following: cloud security, malware analysis, network security, incident response, penetration testing, threat modelling, SAST, DAST. You will likely have a BS in Computer Science or related field of math, science, or engineering and relevant industry certifications from SANS, ISC2 to name a few.
You will also have a good understanding of best practices in security engineering, including secure development, network security, security operations, policy, and/or incident response. Highly regarded will be coding experience with a least one: Go, PHP, Ruby, Typescript; a track record of delivering technical programs, projects, and products in a highly technical environment and lastly a clear understanding of cloud computing services and deployment architecture.
